Investment Strategy

The investment seeks high current income consistent with preservation of principal. The fund normally invests at least 80% of its assets in a broad range of investment-grade debt securities that have a dollar-weighted average portfolio maturity of three years or less. The debt securities in which the fund may invest include, among others, obligations of U.S., state, and local governments, their agencies and instrumentalities; mortgage- and asset-backed securities; corporate debt securities; repurchase agreements; and other securities believed to have debt-like characteristics.

Biography As a Co-Chief Investment Officer, Matt Freund is responsible for oversight of investment team resources, investment processes, performance and risk. As Head of Fixed Income Strategies, he manages investment team members and has portfolio management responsibilities. He is also a member of the Calamos Investment Committee, which is charged with providing a top-down framework, maintaining oversight of risk and performance metrics, and evaluating investment process.
