The Fund aims to provide capital growth and income in excess of the iBoxx Asian Local Currency Bond index after fees have been deducted over a three to five year period by investing in Asian fixed income securities denominated in local currencies. The Fund is actively managed and invests at least two-thirds of its assets in fixed income securities with an investment grade or sub-investment grade credit rating (as measured by Standard & Poor's or any equivalent grade of other credit rating agencies for rated bonds and implied Schroders ratings for non-rated bonds) denominated in local currencies issued by government, government agencies and companies in Asia (excluding Japan) and derivatives related to the above instruments. For the purposes of this Fund, Asia includes the following west Asian countries: Bahrain, Israel, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and United Arab Emirates.
