The Fund will seek to achieve capital appreciation by investing in Japanese equity securities, including common stock, listed convertibles and warrants quoted on a Regulated Market in Japan. The Japan Equity Fund may also invest in new issues for which application for listing on a Regulated Market in Japan will be sought. At all times, at least two thirds of The Japan Equity Fund's net assets will be invested in the foregoing instruments (excluding convertibles) of issuers domiciled in Japan or who receive the majority of their total revenue from Japan.

Biography | Ross has a BSc in Mathematics from Strathclyde University. He trained as an actuary at Standard Life from 1983 before joining Murray Johnstone in 1986 as an investment analyst. He joined Blairlogie Capital Management in 1993 and Ignis Asset Management’s Japanese desk in December 2001. He left to join Russell in London in 2006 to manage Japan equity multi-manager portfolios. He is one of the longest serving UK-based Japan equity specialists but has gained broad experience in other equity regions over the years.
