Investment Strategy

The primary investment objective of the portfolio is to seek above average returns. The portfolio will tend to have an increased probability to volatility in the short term due to the high equity exposure, with the aim of maximising capital growth in the long term. The portfolio will at all times be managed to comply with statutory investment limits for retirement funds in South Africa. In order to achieve this objective the portfolio will consist of equities, listed property, bonds, preference shares, property related securities, participatory interests in portfolios in collective investment schemes and assets in liquid form. The exposure to equities will typically be above 65% at all times. The manager, however has the flexibility to vary the asset allocation in such a manner as to reduce the risk profile of the portfolio.
