Investment Strategy

The investment seeks long-term capital appreciation. The fund will, under normal market conditions, invest its assets primarily in common stocks located in the United States and abroad that the subadviser believes have superior sales and earnings growth potential, but at a reasonable price. It will invest at least 80% of its net assets in established companies in the technology and science sectors.

Biography Chris joined Bailard in 2015. As a member of the Technology investment team, he focuses his investment research on semiconductor and related industries and coordinates broadly on technology investment strategies. Prior to Bailard, Chris founded Primary Funds, LLC, an investment firm specialized in low-volatility, long/short technology-biased equity strategies where fundamental research played an integral role in stock selection and portfolio construction. Previously, he was involved with Bailard’s fixed income and asset allocation efforts, as well as serving as a trader. Before joining Bailard in 2001, Mr. Johnson worked as a new business analyst at Conseco Financial Services. Mr. Johnson received his BA in biology from DePauw University in 2000.

Biography Thomas J. Mudge heads Bailard’s equity research and serves as the lead portfolio manager of the Bailard small value equity strategy. He joined the firm in 1987. Prior to joining Bailard, Biehl & Kaiser in 1987, Tom worked in the telecommunications industry. He earned his BA at Northern Michigan University in 1985 and the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst in 1994. He has also completed Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government's certificate program in "Investment Decisions and Behavioral Finance."

Art formerly worked with Bank of America's Trust and Investment Division. He received his BS in 1975 and MBA in 1978 from Santa Clara University. He earned the designations of Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Investment Counselor in 1982. Art's economic analysis and market outlook are often quoted in the national press.

Prior to joining Bailard in 1985, Mr. Hill worked in the United Kingdom as the Deputy Investment Manager for the Royal London Insurance Society, Ltd., where he managed portfolios of international equities and unit trusts. Mr. Hill received bachelor’s degree in 1972 from Leeds University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, U.K.

Biography Investment Experience: 8 years; 1 year (2003) Dana's responsibilities as part of the BB&K Asset Management team include quantitative research with other members of the team and development of new equity market neutral strategies. He is an expert on equity trading research and data, as well as FIX-based trading. Prior to joining BB&K, Dana was a Managing Partner at Mulsanne Capital Management, a Principal in Global Equity Trading Research at Barclays Global Investors, a quant on the Statistical Arbitrage desk at UBS/O'Connor (nee Warburg), and a financial analyst on the money market trading desk in the Corporate Treasury of Bank of America. In a previous life, Dana was a rocket scientist working on ballistic missile defense at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology/Lincoln Laboratory and an Instructor in Applied Mathematics at MIT. Dana received his PhD in Applied Mathematics from the California Institute of Technology in 1990 and his BS in Mathematics from Harvey Mudd College in 1985. He received his CFA charter in 2000.

Biography Berry is a senior vice president of equity research with Bailard, Biehl and Kaiser. Previously, he worked for Hughes Investment Management as an investment analyst. He also worked with Wilshire Associates. Berry holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
