The Tapiola Euro Bond mutual fund is a long-term fixed-income fund that invests primarily in securities issued in the euro zone and other OECD countries by governments, municipalities and other public corporations. The fund can also invest in bonds guaranteed by a state or public corporation (covered bonds). The fund only invests in euro-denominated products, and in all other cases the currency risk must be hedged. Through this fund, it is possible to invest in government bonds in the wholesale market where returns are higher than in the retail market. Tapiola Euro Bond is suitable for investors who are looking for a steady return with a moderate risk. Changes in the general level of interest rates affect the value of the fixed-income fund. Changes in interest rates have an inverse effect on the value of the fund; as interest rates rise, the value of the fund's securities falls. We recommend an investment period of two years minimum.
