Investment Strategy

The iShares Carbon Efficient Index Brasil Index Fund seeks to obtain returns on investments that correspond, in general, to the performance, before fees and expenses, of the Carbon Efficient Index. The Carbon Efficient Index - ICO2 is a market index that measures the return on an investment in a theoretical portfolio calculated by BM&FBOVESPA and by BNDES comprised of stocks of companies participating in the IBrX-50 that agreed to participate in this initiative, adopting transparent practices in respect to their emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs). Such stocks are weighted in the Index portfolio based on the GHG emissions efficiency levels of the companies as well as on the free float (total shares outstanding) of each company.
