Investment Strategy

The investment seeks long-term growth of capital. The fund, under normal market conditions, invests at least 80% of its net assets plus any borrowings for investment purposes in common stocks of U.S. corporations that are judged by Hood River to have strong growth characteristics or to be undervalued in the marketplace relative to underlying profitability and have a market capitalization which, at the time of purchase, is consistent with the capitalization ranges of the S&P SmallCap 600® Index and the Russell 2000® Growth Index ("small-cap companies").

Before starting Hood River, Rob spent 10 years at Roxbury Capital Management managing the Small-Cap Growth strategy. Prior to Roxbury, he was a portfolio manager and equity analyst on the small/mid-cap investment team at Columbia Management Group. Before joining Columbia, he was a vice president and consumer analyst for The Seidler Companies, a boutique research and brokerage firm. Rob began his career as a senior consultant at Deloitte & Touche where he earned his CPA (license inactive). He has a B.S. in business administration from the University of California, Berkeley and an M.B.A. in finance from The Anderson School of Business at UCLA.

Biography Nick Blankl joined Roxbury in 2009 as a member of the Small-Cap Growth Investment Team. His responsibilities include portfolio management as well as equity analysis focusing exclusively on small-cap securities. From 2006 to 2008, Mr. Blankl was a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager for the Small-Cap Growth team with Provident Investment Counsel. He began his career as a Research Analyst at Provident Investment Counsel in 2000. Prior to entering the investment industry in 2000, Mr. Blankl was a national Marketing Manager with Schwan's Sales Enterprises. Mr. Blankl earned his undergraduate degree at the Loyola Marymount University and has an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California.
Steve N. Marshman Portfolio Manager 2003 2009
Biography Steve Marshman, CFA joined Roxbury in July of 2002 and has thirteen years of investment management experience. From 1995 to July 2002, Mr. Marshman was with Columbia Management Group (“Columbia”) where he was a Fund Manager on the Small/Mid Cap Investment Team as well as an Equity Analyst focusing on small/mid-cap securities. His responsibilities at Columbia also included management of Columbia’s Technology Fund. Prior to 17 joining Columbia, Mr. Marshman was a fighter pilot in the US Air Force. He has a B.S. from the US Air Force Academy and an M.B.A. from Golden Gate University.
