The investment objective of the Sub-fund is to seek to outperform the MSCI Emerging Markets Index (Net) (the “Index”), while attempting to maintain below-average downside risk, over holding periods of three to five years by investing primarily in emerging equity markets worldwide. The Sub-fund, using a value-based approach, seeks to capitalise on inefficiencies in emerging markets through a quantitative investment process that combines active market selection and active stock selection. The Investment Advisor seeks to select attractively priced emerging equity markets on the basis of an extensive monthly asset and earnings valuation analysis, using quantitative multi-factor models. Selected markets typically are assigned approximately equal portfolio weights, subject to liquidity constraints and political or other risk factors.
