Investment Strategy

The Fund aims to deliver capital growth over the long term (5 years or more) through investment in sustainable securities. The Fund will invest in companies globally. All investments will be expected to conform to our social and environmental criteria as set out on the Liontrust website. The Fund will typically invest 95% (minimum 90%) in equities or equity related derivatives, but may also invest in collective investment schemes (up to 10% of Fund assets), corporate debt securities, other transferable securities, money market instruments, warrants, cash and deposits.

Biography Chris, who moved to Liontrust in April 2017 as part of the company’s acquisition of Alliance Trust Investments (ATI), is manager of the Liontrust SF Global Growth, SF Managed Growth and GF SF Global Growth funds. Chris joined ATI through the management training programme after graduating with a First Class Honours degree in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Edinburgh. Biography Simon Clements also transferred to Liontrust in 2017 having spent five years at Alliance Trust Investments. Prior to this, he spent 12 years at Aviva Investors (previously Morley Fund Management) where, most recently, he was head of global equities. Earlier in his career, he worked as a portfolio accountant and risk and performance analyst before joining Aviva Investors in 2000 to help develop its global equity and socially responsible investment propositions. He is currently the lead manager of the SF Global Growth fund and the SF Absolute Growth fund, and co-manager on the SF Managed, SF Cautious Managed and SF Defensive Managed funds. He holds a BA in economics from the University of Newcastle, Australia and a graduate diploma in applied finance and investment from the Securities Institute of Australia.

Biography Peter Michaelis joined Liontrust in April 2017 as part of the acquisition of Alliance Trust Investments, where he was Head of Investment. Peter has been managing money in Sustainable and Responsible Investment for over 20 years. After completing a PhD in Environmental Economics, Peter started his career working for the Steel Construction Institute as an Environmental Engineer. He then moved to Henderson Global Investors where he was able to use his experience as a Sustainable and Responsible Investment Analyst and Assistant Portfolio Manager. In 2001, he moved to Aviva Investors (previously Morley Fund Management), where he was promoted to lead portfolio manager on a number of its Sustainable and Responsible Investment funds, before being made Head of Sustainable and Responsible Investment.

Biography Mike joined Aviva Investors sustainable and responsible investment team in 2004 as a research analyst, and has been a fund manager since 2006. Previously, Mike was head of technology at Electronic Ink, Europe. Prior to that, he was an investment analyst at TASS Management. Mike started his career on Lehman Brothers’ trading desk in London.

Biography Julian joined Morley Fund Management in May 2001.Previously, he worked for Deutsche Asset Management where he was part of the Global Strategy Team for just under two years. Prior to this role Julian was a Fund Manager in the Japan team at Morgan Grenfell. He holds an MA in Modern History from Oxford University and the IMC.
