The Unemployment Rate measures the percentage of the total work force that is not working, yet actively seeking employment. The Central Statistical Office, GUS, revised its jobless figures starting in December 2003, after a national census showed a drop in the number of people employed in agriculture.
A reading that is higher than forecast is generally negative (bearish) for the PLN, while a lower than forecast reading is generally supportive (bullish) for the PLN.
