The All Industries Activity Index measures the change in overall production within the Japanese economy on a monthly basis. The index is nicely correlated with Japanese gross domestic product (GDP).

A reading that is stronger than forecast is generally supportive (bullish) for the JPY, while a weaker than forecast reading is generally negative (bearish) for the JPY.
