US Dollar
The dollar index rose during the Asian session on Monday, after the rise of the US dollar against a basket of major currencies, including the euro and the pound, and ahead of the awaited figure regarding the housing sector.
EURO
During today’s Asian trading session, the euro fell against the dollar ahead the release of the German IFO.
The British pound
The GBP/USD continued its losses for the third day, after January figures revealed the worst decline in British retail sales.
Australian dollar
The Australian dollar traded lower against the American dollar this morning, due to worries about low commodity prices.
Japanese yen
The Japanese yen traded slightly higher against the greenback on Monday, after the BOJ’s meeting minutes showed that some members of the board questioned the extension of the massive quantitative easing program started in October last year. The QE may need to be stopped before reaching the 2% inflation target.
