TESLA COMPETITION IS HEATING UP
Volkswagen (DE:VOWG_p) Group announced that a number of its electric models, including the Porsche Taycan, were already sold out for 2022 and that the company's EV business is expected to be profitable ahead of schedule. With more than 650,000 employees, and 10 distinct brands, VW Group is a giant in global auto manufacturing and on the current run rate the German giant could outpace Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) in 12-15 months. BANK OF ENGLAND DOVISH HIKE
The Bank of England hiked rates for the third meeting in the row and GBP falls! The 25bps hike was fully expected by markets, what wasn't was that deputy governor Jon Cunliffe dissented and voted to leave rates unchanged (More).

I remember the first time I saw an earthquake headline come across the scroll when I was a junior on the desk (a mixture of disbelief and panic!). Little did I know that Japan has approximately 5,000 minor earthquakes every year, with less than 20% registering a magnitude greater than 4.0.
Why does this happen? Japan overlaps the four continental plates – the Pacific, the Philippine, the Eurasian, and the North American plate. Here, the plates slide over liquid rock and cause tension, which is eventually released and expressed as earthquakes. So before you panic, the factor for markets as to whether it reacts or not is the magnitude. For context, the Tohoku Earthquake in March 2011 registered at 9.1, the highest on record.
