Investment Strategy

The Fund aims to deliver an income return in excess of the income of the FTSE® All-Share Index□ (the “Index”), over 3-year rolling periods, and provide an average annual net return greater than the Index over rolling 5-year periods, by investing in shares of UK companies. At least 80% of the Fund will be invested in shares of UK companies (incorporated or domiciled in the UK), or non UK companies which are listed in the UK or which have significant trading activities in the UK.

Biography Chris manages the Aviva Investors UK Equity Income and Aviva Investors UK Equity strategies. Chris joined Aviva Investors in 2006 from Framlington Investment Management where he was responsible for managing the firm’s UK income and growth retail portfolios. Chris began his investment career in 1988 as a graduate UK equity analyst for Lehman Bros before joining James Capel in UK equity analyst role. Chris holds a BSc (Hons) in Physics from University College, Cardiff and holds the IIMR (Institute of Investment Management Research) qualification.

Biography James is co-Fund Manager of our UK Equity Income strategies alongside Chris Murphy, and the Fund Manager of the UK Equity Income Stewardship Fund. James joined Aviva Investors in 2012 as part of the Aviva Investors Graduate Training scheme, initially as UK Equity Analyst covering the Industrial, Food Retail and Consumer Staples sectors, before progressing to Assistant Fund Manager. In May 2016 James was appointed co-Fund Manager of our UK Equity Income strategy. James holds a BA in Economics from Durham University and a MSc in Finance and Investment from the University of Essex. James is a CFA® charterholder.

Biography Dan C. Roberts is an Executive Managing Director, Head of the Global Fixed Income Group and its Chief Investment Officer. His responsibilities include spearheading macro-economic research, managing portfolios that utilize asset allocation and chairing GFI’s Investment Policy Committee (IPC). Directing the IPC is Dan’s most important investment responsibility as this Committee is the foundation of the GFI team-based approach to managing portfolios. It sets all portfolio strategy within the context of the team’s macro view and monitors compliance with its decisions. No significant positions are taken in any portfolio without the approval of the IPC. The IPC’s voting members are GFI’s four most senior investment professionals, who have worked together for nearly two decades. Dan joined MacKay Shields in 2004 when the firm acquired the fixed income business of Pareto Partners, where he had served as Chief Investment Officer. Dan first began assembling his team in 1989, when he was appointed head of fixed income at UBS Asset Management. In 1997 the team joined Forstmann-Leff International and was subsequently purchased by Pareto Partners in 2000. Prior to UBS, Dan worked at Chase Manhattan Bank, initially as a Financial Economist before being named head of Global Interest Rate and Currency Swaps Trading. Before joining the private sector, Dan served at The White House with the President’s Council of Economic Advisors from 1981 to 1983, was the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Congress’ Joint Economic Committee from 1984 to 1985 and was an economist at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission from 1977 to 1978. Dan holds a BBA and a PhD from University of Iowa. He has been working in the investment industry since 1977.
Scott McKenzie Portfolio Manager 2000 2005
Biography Scott spent nine years at Britannia Asset Management, where he helped to build their UK Equity team into one of the industry’s leaders. He managed the Britannia Higher Yield Fund, which was AAA rated by Standard & Poor’s, and consistently among the best-performing funds in its sector. Scott moved to Norwich Union Investment Management – which later became Morley Fund Management – in 1999. At Morley, he managed the Norwich UK Equity Income Fund and the RBS Equity Income Fund, and co-managed the Norwich Distribution Fund. Both of the Norwich funds he managed were A-rated by Standard and Poor’s at the time of his departure. Scott joined Martin Currie in October 2005 to manage Martin Currie’s UK equity income fund.
