Investment Strategy

The objective of the Fund is to achieve a level of income (gross of fees) above the FTSE All-Share Total Return (NDTR) Index over 1 year rolling periods and outperform (gross of fees) the FTSE AllShare Total Return (NDTR) Index over the long-term (over 5 year rolling periods). To achieve the objective, the Fund will invest at least 80% of its assets, directly or indirectly (such proportion to be determined by the Investment Adviser), in equities of: (i) companies that have their registered office in the UK; (ii) companies that do not have their registered office in the UK but carry out a predominant proportion of their business activity in the UK market; and/or (iii) companies whose equities are listed on a UK stock exchange.

Along with Jerry Ehlinger and Mark Abramson, he also serves as a Portfolio Manager for the firm's global real estate securities strategies. John has over 20 years of experience in the public and private equity and debt real estate markets across the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to joining Heitman in 2010, John was co-head of real estate securities at Challenger (Heitman's Asian JV partner for real estate securities) for five years; he was also senior investment manager, real estate securities at HSBC Asset Management from 2001. Before moving to investment management, John worked in investment banking as a senior property analyst at HSBC and as a manager-real estate credit at ANZ Banking Group in Australia and in South-East Asia. He began his career as a real estate valuer at Landauer and Chesterton. John received a BBus in Land Economy from University of Western Sydney-Hawkesbury and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia. He is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, the Asian Public Real Estate Association, the Australian Property Institute and the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.

Biography Malcolm graduated in Mathematics and Economics from Strathclyde University. He joined Martin Currie as an analyst covering UK and US equities in 1978. Two years later he joined Phillips & Drew to analyse investment in smaller companies. During his time at Phillips & Drew he held various positions including ten years as a Trustee of the UBS Pensions Scheme. Malcolm joined SG Asset Management in 2002 where he is a senior UK equity fund manager.

Biography After graduating from Oxford, Adrian started his investment career with Andersen Consulting as a strategic consultant specialising in the telecoms sector. In 1996, he joined Fleming Investment Management as an analyst and assistant fund manager on the UK Equities side until 1998, when he moved to Société Générale Asset Management. There he co-managed the UK Income Fund and several higher income institutional and charity mandates, managing assets of £500m. Adrian joined the Artemis UK Equity team in October 2003. Now he co-manages the Artemis Income Fund and High Income Fund with Adrian Frost.
