The Fund seeks to maximise total return. The Fund invests at least 70% of its total assets in the equity securities of small and mid capitalisation companies domiciled in, or exercising the predominant part of their economic activity in, Japan. Small and mid capitalisation companies are considered companies which, at the time of purchase, form the bottom 30% by market capitalisation of Japanese stock markets.

Biography | Kei Fujibe, Director and portfolio manager, is responsible for managing for Japanese small/mid cap equity portfolios, was appointed co-manager of BGF Japan Opportunities Fund in January 2012, and has equity research responsibilities in domestic demands sectors. Mr. Fujibe's service with the firm dates back to 1999, including his years with Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM), which merged with BlackRock in 2006. At MLIM, Mr. Fujibe had portfolio management and equity research responsibilities as a member of the Japanese Equity Specialist Team. Prior to joining MLIM, Mr. Fujibe spent three years in the Japanese self-defense force. Mr. Fujibe earned a BA degree in economics from Aoyama Gakuin University in 1997. | ||
