Investment Strategy

The objective of the fund is to grow both income and capital over a five year period. The fund invests 80% to 100% in company shares and up to 20% in bonds, cash and near cash, other transferable securities, other funds (up to 10%) managed by Artemis and third party funds, money market instruments, and derivatives. The fund may use derivatives for efficient portfolio management purposes to reduce risk and manage the fund efficiently. The fund invests at least 80% in the United Kingdom and up to 20% in other countries.

Biography	Adrian manages the Artemis Income Fund, which he took over when he joined the firm in January 2002, and several institutional income mandates. After graduating from Jesus College, Cambridge, Adrian began his career at Deutsche Asset Management (Morgan Grenfell) in 1983. He was appointed a director there in 1990 and head of UK equities in 1996. Until July 2015, Adrian also managed the Artemis High Income Fund.

Biography	After graduating from Oxford, Adrian started his investment career with Andersen Consulting as a strategic consultant specialising in the telecoms sector. In 1996, he joined Fleming Investment Management as an analyst and assistant fund manager on the UK Equities side until 1998, when he moved to Société Générale Asset Management. There he co-managed the UK Income Fund and several higher income institutional and charity mandates, managing assets of £500m. Adrian joined the Artemis UK Equity team in October 2003. Now he co-manages the Artemis Income Fund and High Income Fund with Adrian Frost.

Biography	Derek manages the Artemis UK Special Situations Fund, which he launched in March 2000, and segregated accounts alongside Andy Gray. He trained in fund management at Ivory & Sime and was promoted in 1992 to run UK equity income portfolios. Derek co-founded Artemis in 1997.
