Investment Strategy

The fund aims to provide significant capital growth while maintaining a moderate level of income. The emphasis is on growth through maximum diversification, more so than short-term capital preservation. The portfolio maintains a moderate risk profile and equity will be typically between 20% and 40%. Property will lie between 10% and 25% while cash will be between 0% and 75% and all other non-equity will be between 0% and 80%. The portfolio will comply with prudential investment guidelines. Investments may, apart from assets in liquid form, consist of equity securities, non-equity securities, convertible stock, preference shares and property securities. The manager may also invest in collective investment schemes. Where the schemes are operated outside South Africa they will be included only where the regulatory environment is of sufficient standard to provide investor protection at least equal to South Africa. The portfolio may invest in listed and unlisted financial instruments

Biography	James Twidale completed a Business Science Honours degree in Finance at the University of Cape Town, with his thesis on Smart Beta Investment. He is currently in pursuit of his CFA designation. He started his career at Genesis Advisory Services as investment specialist. His virtuosity was immediately recognised and James is now portfolio manager and fund expert at 1st Fusion Asset Management. James is part of the investment committee and heads up a lot of the day to day operational functions of running the funds. James also oversees the distribution liaisons.
