Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Finance & Investment and Services sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Staples and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.11%, while the ADX General index fell 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which rose 2.31% or 0.014 points to trade at 0.619 at the close. Mashreqbank PSC (DU:MASB) added 1.74% or 2.00 points to end at 117.00 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) was up 1.49% or 0.050 points to 3.350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included National Cement Company P.S.C. (DU:NCC), which lost 5.26% or 0.200 points to trade at 3.600 in late trade. National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) declined 2.74% or 0.040 points to end at 1.420 and Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) shed 1.10% or 0.04 points to 3.58.
The top performers on the ADX General were Natl Co Bldg M (AD:BILD) which rose 6.45% to 0.660, Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which was up 3.23% to settle at 1.60 and Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which gained 2.46% to close at 7.90.
The worst performers were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which was down 8.56% to 6.30 in late trade, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which lost 3.81% to settle at 3.03 and Methaq (AD:METH) which was down 1.75% to 1.120 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 14 to 13 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 11 rose and 10 declined, while 3 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 4.11% or 1.85 to $43.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 3.27% or 1.67 to hit $49.35 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.42% or 4.60 to trade at $1108.70 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.38% to 4.0631.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 97.13.
