Investing.com – Sweden equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 rose 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Boliden AB (ST:BOL), which rose 1.47% or 2.70 points to trade at 186.80 at the close. Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken A (ST:SEBa) added 1.18% or 1.00 points to end at 85.90 and Svenska Handelsbanken ser. A (ST:SHBa) was up 0.95% or 1.1 points to 116.6 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Getinge AB ser. B (ST:GETIBs), which lost 1.37% or 2.3 points to trade at 165.8 in late trade. Swedish Match AB (ST:SWMA) declined 1.05% or 3.3 points to end at 309.9 and AstraZeneca PLC (ST:AZN) shed 0.52% or 3.0 points to 573.5.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 307 to 292 and 54 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.61% or 1.15 to $45.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 2.01% or 0.92 to hit $46.80 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.01% or 13.25 to trade at $1331.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was down 0.04% to 9.5836, while USD/SEK fell 0.14% to 8.5866.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 95.77.
