Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Information Technology, Plantations and Construction & Engineering sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.10% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Regnis Lanka PLC (CM:REG) added 22.48% or 34.30 points to end at 186.90 and Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO) was up 12.49% or 154.90 points to 1394.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which lost 9.09% or 0.10 points to trade at 1.00 in late trade. Dipped Products PLC (CM:DIPD) declined 7.19% or 11.50 points to end at 148.50 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) shed 7.14% or 0.10 points to 1.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 134 to 100 and 11 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.17% or 0.07 to $43.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.76% or 0.38 to hit $49.62 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1093.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.59% to 206.310, while USD/LKR fell 0.31% to 133.335.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 97.93.
