Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining, Services and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.75%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Cerro Verde (LM:CVE), which rose 7.04% or 1.460 points to trade at 22.210 at the close. Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO) added 3.90% or 0.300 points to end at 8.000 and Casa Grande (LM:CSG) was up 3.23% or 0.200 points to 6.400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA), which lost 2.13% or 0.050 points to trade at 2.300 in late trade. Relapasa (LM:REL) declined 1.67% or 0.004 points to end at 0.236 and Intergroup (LM:IFS) shed 1.36% or 0.450 points to 32.650.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 13 to 13 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.65% or 0.32 to $49.24 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $52.09 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.22% or 2.83 to trade at $1270.03 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2500, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.5347.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 98.85.
