Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Materials, Financial Services and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1), which rose 3.08% or 2.100 points to trade at 70.420 at the close. Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) added 2.09% or 0.740 points to end at 36.000 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) was up 1.84% or 3.340 points to 185.490 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Industrias CH, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICHB), which lost 2.88% or 1.710 points to trade at 57.760 in late trade. Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) declined 2.95% or 0.670 points to end at 22.000 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) shed 2.32% or 0.88 points to 37.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 97 to 61 and 10 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.53% or 5.80 to $1087.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.80% or 0.39 to hit $48.40 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.21% or 0.11 to trade at $53.27 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.17% to 16.2661, while EUR/MXN fell 0.62% to 17.7812.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.39% at 97.61.
