Investing.com – Israel equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Communication, Biomed and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 fell 0.83% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 35 were Melisron (TA:MLSR), which rose 2.25% or 440 points to trade at 19990 at the close. Airport City Ltd (TA:ARPT) added 0.84% or 39 points to end at 4700 and Avner Oil Exploration LP (TA:AVNRp) was up 0.81% or 2.0 points to 248.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Partner (TA:PTNR), which lost 4.42% or 94 points to trade at 2034 in late trade. Cellcom (TA:CEL) declined 3.99% or 155 points to end at 3725 and OPKO Health Inc (TA:OPK) shed 2.92% or 85 points to 2825.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 231 to 177 and 28 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.88% or 0.43 to $48.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.54% or 0.28 to hit $51.34 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.74% or 9.15 to trade at $1243.15 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.29% to 3.6357, while EUR/ILS rose 0.95% to 3.9304.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.62% at 99.54.
