Proactive Investors - Blackbird PLC (LON:BIRD), which licenses, develops and sells cloud-native video editing tools, said EVS Broadcast Equipment (EVS), its first technology licensee, has launched its web-based editing application named IPD-VIA Create.
IPD-VIA Create, which was built by EVS in collaboration with Blackbird, is fully integrated into EVS' ecosystem and provides instant access to content through a browser-based interface.
As a result, users can work with their assets from anywhere in the world and immediately view and push edited content to craft editors or directly distribute it in broadcast quality to multiple channels, Blackbird said in a statement.
“The editing suite has all the same speed, efficiency, and carbon reduction benefits that direct Blackbird customers enjoy,” said Blackbird chief executive Ian McDonough.
“As part of a seamless end-to-end workflow, this state-of-the-art solution can rapidly deliver time and cost reduction efficiencies.
“Additionally, this workflow enhances end user performance through advanced functionality and Blackbird's highly responsive patented codec.”
Today’s announcement follows on from a stock exchange release in September 2021 that a global broadcast company, now announced as EVS, had licensed Blackbird’s core video technology for a five-year period in a deal worth a minimum €2mln.
The minimum contract value represents both a development and license fee.
EVS is a Belgian-listed video technology producer for broadcast and media productions, delivering live sports, entertainment and news to viewers, with offices in more than 100 countries.
