You need to take into consideration the proceeds of the rights issue in your calculation .. price will be much higher

Simple calcs show that this need to correct to at least 802 (1036*24/31). As the rights as issued at 645, I'm sure the correction will take this below 802

Your calc would be correct if the rights were issued at 0p. It's more like: ( (1036*24) + (645*7) ) / 31 = 948

As I said, it's a simple calculation. This calculation doesn't include the perceived drop in value due to the rights issue or the downward selling pressure of existing shareholders selling their rights.

Why do they need to raise cash? If they are creating a third more shares that's going to affect the dividend going forward which will mean less attractive to retail investors. When I've this happen to other stocks 1/3 more shares this will be a 1/3 cheaper so probably heading close to 700. Interesting time to do it as well around an election with uncertainty looming very shady.

Bill, fingers crossed that it goes up for you. my only caution is the danger of nationalisation, which puts me off - but then I hope that my forebodings on the stock are wrong! All the best.

And it's a great shame. Another great company wrecked by politicos and do-gooders.
