  • Enrich the conversation
  • Stay focused and on track. Only post material that’s relevant to the topic being discussed.
  • Be respectful. Even negative opinions can be framed positively and diplomatically.
  •  Use standard writing style. Include punctuation and upper and lower cases.
  • NOTE: Spam and/or promotional messages and links within a comment will be removed

I am not a chartist. As I read the news, it appears that the management and allies (= reporters like those at Wall Street Journal) are making very conscious efforts to drive the price up.

Saved only by a huge stock buyback. It shows me Apple is struggling to maintain growth levels. People care a bit less about the latest iphone due to them all basically being the same. People will buy less US goods due to their stance on Israel too.

Stock buyback (usually done when solid companies have a low share price, to bolster it - but in this case, Apple are announcing a huge buyback to prevent a fall in share price due to weak performance by a company that’s already bled everyone dry. I do not think the future is as bright for them as most, but will carry on dominating the cell phone market. Unless interest rates drop (a lot) I cannot see accessories of this short succeeding as much. Straight after the US election they will go back into war mode to pump up oil prices, therefore inflation and interest rates rise again. That’s the big picture IMO. GL all.
