Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Mining, S&P Lima Juniors and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 1.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Ferreyros (LM:FER), which rose 2.42% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.690 at the close. Bco Continenta (LM:CON) added 2.31% or 0.090 points to end at 3.980 and Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) was up 1.09% or 0.210 points to 19.410 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which lost 7.55% or 1.090 points to trade at 13.340 in late trade. Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) declined 4.54% or 0.030 points to end at 0.630 and Trevali Mining (LM:TV) shed 4.11% or 0.030 points to 0.700.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 6 and 16 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.74% or 1.32 to $46.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $49.07 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.39% or 18.65 to trade at $1327.45 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3525, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7893.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 94.73.
