Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.63%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 0.79% or 0.048 points to trade at 6.149 at the close. Abertis Infr (MC:ABE) added 0.71% or 0.095 points to end at 13.525 and Mapfre (MC:MAP) was up 0.26% or 0.007 points to 2.707 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX), which lost 2.64% or 0.41 points to trade at 14.96 in late trade. Viscofan (MC:VIS) declined 2.42% or 1.065 points to end at 42.935 and Bankia (MC:BKIA) shed 1.72% or 0.014 points to 0.802.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 141 to 62 and 18 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.07% or 0.95 to $1275.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.24% or 1.58 to hit $47.12 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 3.55% or 1.80 to trade at $48.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.0976, while EUR/GBP fell 0.43% to 0.8977.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 98.36.
