Investing.com – Israel equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Biomed, Banking and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 25 added 1.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 25 were Leumi (TA:LUMI), which rose 4.99% or 62 points to trade at 1305 at the close. OPKO Health Inc (TA:OPK) added 4.55% or 140 points to end at 3220 and Perrigo (TA:PRGO) was up 3.58% or 1950 points to 56460 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Delek Group (TA:DLEKG), which lost 3.12% or 2000 points to trade at 62200 in late trade. Avner L (TA:AVNRp) declined 2.79% or 6.1 points to end at 212.7 and Delek Drilling LP (TA:DEDRp) shed 2.10% or 23 points to 1072.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 214 to 114 and 126 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 5.58% or 1.62 to $30.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 6.00% or 1.93 to hit $34.11 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.21% or 2.50 to trade at $1210.70 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was down 0.16% to 3.8978, while EUR/ILS fell 0.27% to 4.3384.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 96.88.
