Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Investment Trust, Services and Construction & Engineering sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 1.14% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Tea Smallholder Factories PLC (CM:TSML), which rose 17.65% or 5.40 points to trade at 36.00 at the close. Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) added 17.39% or 0.40 points to end at 2.70 and Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) was up 16.97% or 229.10 points to 1578.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which lost 17.31% or 450.10 points to trade at 2150.00 in late trade. Ramboda Falls PLC (CM:RFLL) declined 10.79% or 3.00 points to end at 24.80 and Associated Motor Finance Company PLC (CM:ASSO) shed 9.77% or 41.60 points to 384.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 160 to 47 and 32 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.96% or 0.44 to $46.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.52% or 0.25 to hit $48.02 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.07% or 13.60 to trade at $1280.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.29% to 213.270, while USD/LKR fell 0.11% to 145.960.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.38% at 93.37.
