Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Banking and Real Estate & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 1.44%, while the ADX General index gained 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which rose 12.21% or 0.160 points to trade at 1.470 at the close. Commercial Bank of Dubai P.S.C. (DU:CBD) added 4.17% or 0.200 points to end at 5.000 and Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) was up 3.67% or 0.040 points to 1.130 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which lost 3.60% or 0.100 points to trade at 2.680 in late trade. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) declined 2.81% or 0.014 points to end at 0.485 and Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) shed 2.53% or 0.040 points to 1.540.
The top performers on the ADX General were Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which rose 2.90% to 2.480, Methaq (AD:METH) which was up 2.44% to settle at 0.840 and Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which gained 1.96% to close at 1.0400.
The worst performers were Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) which was down 6.67% to 2.100 in late trade, Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which lost 4.26% to settle at 0.9000 and Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which was down 1.85% to 0.530 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 23 to 11 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 10 rose and 9 declined, while 6 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.81% or 0.37 to $45.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.05% or 0.49 to hit $47.12 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.44% or 5.35 to trade at $1229.25 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6734, while EUR/AED rose 0.38% to 3.9411.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 100.08.
