Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Information Technology, Land & Property and Plantations sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.59% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Kotmale Holdings PLC (CM:LAMB) added 17.27% or 44.90 points to end at 304.90 and Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL) was up 15.72% or 271.40 points to 1998.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which lost 12.50% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.7000 in late trade. Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) declined 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.700 and Taprobane Holdings PLC (CM:TAPR) shed 6.52% or 0.300 points to 4.300.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 152 to 59 and 47 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.84% or 0.41 to $49.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.81% or 0.42 to hit $52.24 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.17% or 2.15 to trade at $1268.05 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.34% to 197.125, while USD/LKR fell 0.13% to 152.240.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 98.63.
