Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Telecoms and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.49% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Enel (MI:ENEI), which rose 2.41% or 0.110 points to trade at 4.682 at the close. Banca Generali (MI:BGN) added 1.97% or 0.55 points to end at 28.40 and Atlantia (MI:ATL) was up 1.69% or 0.42 points to 25.23 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Prysmian (MI:PRY), which lost 1.74% or 0.44 points to trade at 24.91 in late trade. Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII) declined 1.65% or 0.080 points to end at 4.780 and Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) shed 1.37% or 0.33 points to 23.69.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 181 to 169 and 20 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.06% or 0.03 to $48.82 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $51.83 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.59% or 7.27 to trade at $1237.27 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.92% to 1.1076, while EUR/GBP rose 0.79% to 0.8575.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.69% at 98.13.
