Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Building & Construction, Financial Services & Real Estate and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 1.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG), which rose 0.15% or 0.013 points to trade at 8.477 at the close. Inditex (MC:ITX) added 0.01% or 0.003 points to end at 33.612 and Enagas (MC:ENAG) was down 0.31% or 0.085 points to 27.520 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which lost 6.98% or 0.434 points to trade at 5.786 in late trade. Acerinox (MC:ACX) declined 6.43% or 0.677 points to end at 9.858 and Sacyr (MC:SCYR) shed 5.88% or 0.134 points to 2.136.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 178 to 31 and 8 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.02% or 0.20 to $1166.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.32% or 1.02 to hit $42.96 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.82% or 0.86 to trade at $46.67 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.1038, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.7213.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 97.03.
