UK Stocks-Factors to watch on Sept 9

Sept 9 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening 29 points lower at 5,902 on Wednesday, according to financial bookmakers.

AstraZeneca: AstraZeneca Plc AZN.L on Tuesday said it has paused global trials, including large late-stage trials, of its experimental coronavirus vaccine because of an unexplained illness in a study participant.

Barclays : Investment banker Francesco Ceccato is taking the helm of Barclays' (LON:BARC) Irish unit, where the bulk of its European business has shifted in recent years following Britain's vote to leave the EU, according to an internal memo seen by Reuters.

IAG: Shareholders backed IAG's (ICAG.L) plan to raise 2.75 billion euros ($3.25 billion) in equity at a virtual meeting on Tuesday that saw the airline group's long-time CEO Willie Walsh hand over to insider Luis Gallego.

The UK blue-chip index (.FTSE) ended 0.1% down on Tuesday as weak oil prices hurt major energy stocks, while losses in the mid-cap index were mitigated by Royal Mail (LON:RMG), which rose after it flagged a boost from e-commerce.
