Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Investment Trust, Plantations and Beverages & Tobacco sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.09% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Lanka Cement PLC (CM:LCEM), which rose 23.88% or 1.60 points to trade at 8.30 at the close. Arpico Finance Company PLC (CM:ARPI) added 14.13% or 26.00 points to end at 210.00 and Bimputh Finance PLC (CM:BIMP) was up 13.72% or 11.70 points to 97.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which lost 33.33% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 in late trade. Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD) declined 14.07% or 1900.000 points to end at 11600.000 and Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (CM:UCHE) shed 9.81% or 51.10 points to 470.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 139 to 88 and 10 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.51% or 0.21 to $42.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.46% or 0.23 to hit $48.52 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.12% or 1.30 to trade at $1119.70 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.26% to 209.050, while USD/LKR rose 0.07% to 134.180.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.00% at 96.84.
