Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO), which rose 20.00% or 6.16 points to trade at 36.96 at the close. Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK) added 5.59% or 0.21 points to end at 3.97 and Goltas Cimento (IS:GOLTS) was up 4.36% or 3.95 points to 94.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tupras (IS:TUPRS), which lost 3.84% or 2.95 points to trade at 73.90 in late trade. Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) declined 3.45% or 0.170 points to end at 4.760 and Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR) shed 3.43% or 0.060 points to 1.690.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 175 to 152 and 84 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.82% or 10.00 to $1236.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 2.96% or 1.23 to hit $40.27 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 2.51% or 1.10 to trade at $42.74 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.19% to 2.8545, while EUR/TRY rose 0.45% to 3.2262.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.34% at 94.62.
