Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Technology and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which rose 21.31% or 1.01 points to trade at 5.75 at the close. Vakif Gmyo (IS:VKGYO) added 10.39% or 0.24 points to end at 2.55 and Karsan Otomotiv (IS:KARSN) was up 6.21% or 0.090 points to 1.540 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Teknosa IC Ve Dis Ticaret (IS:TKNSA), which lost 2.64% or 0.210 points to trade at 7.740 in late trade. Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) declined 2.46% or 0.110 points to end at 4.370 and Tofas Oto. Fab. (IS:TOASO) shed 1.98% or 0.35 points to 17.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 262 to 137 and 16 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 1.39% or 16.70 to $1185.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.60% or 0.36 to hit $59.61 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.74% or 0.47 to trade at $62.55 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.09% to 2.6658, while EUR/TRY fell 0.95% to 3.0320.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 94.33.
