Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Textile & Leather and Real Estate Investments sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.90% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which rose 11.26% or 2.19 points to trade at 21.64 at the close. Sinpas Gmyo (IS:SNGYO) added 7.94% or 0.050 points to end at 0.680 and Metro Holding (IS:METRO) was up 7.81% or 0.050 points to 0.690 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which lost 4.35% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.220 in late trade. Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR) declined 2.37% or 0.040 points to end at 1.650 and AK Enerji (IS:AKENR) shed 1.65% or 0.020 points to 1.190.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 227 to 115 and 70 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.01% or 0.10 to $1234.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.17% or 0.49 to hit $41.22 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.37% or 0.16 to trade at $42.94 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.43% to 2.8423, while EUR/TRY fell 0.11% to 3.2184.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 94.44.
