Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Technology and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.69% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Torunlar Gmyo (IS:TRGYO), which rose 3.71% or 0.17 points to trade at 4.75 at the close. Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) added 3.21% or 0.190 points to end at 6.100 and Turcas Petrol (IS:TRCAS) was up 2.55% or 0.040 points to 1.610 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Park Elek. Madencilik (IS:PRKME), which lost 4.50% or 0.100 points to trade at 2.120 in late trade. Cimsa (IS:CIMSA) declined 4.42% or 0.80 points to end at 17.29 and Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) shed 2.18% or 0.23 points to 10.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 216 to 119 and 71 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.43% or 17.60 to $1250.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 2.02% or 1.08 to hit $54.67 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 2.06% or 1.15 to trade at $56.99 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.59% to 3.5598, while EUR/TRY fell 0.26% to 3.7723.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 100.91.
