Turkey shares higher at close of trade; BIST 100 up 0.61%

Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Textile & Leather and Real Estate Investments sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.61% to hit a new all time high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI), which rose 13.45% or 3.20 points to trade at 27.00 at the close. Park Elektrik Uretim Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:PRKME) added 6.67% or 0.200 points to end at 3.200 and Pegasus Hava Tasimaciligi AS (IS:PGSUS) was up 4.12% or 0.710 points to 17.950 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY), which lost 5.21% or 1.62 points to trade at 29.50 in late trade. Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) declined 4.82% or 0.080 points to end at 1.580 and Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) shed 2.44% or 0.010 points to 0.400.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 189 to 147 and 70 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.37% or 4.66 to $1250.84 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.60% or 0.31 to hit $51.16 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.57% or 0.31 to trade at $53.84 a barrel.

USD/TRY was down 0.07% to 3.5718, while EUR/TRY fell 0.14% to 3.9929.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 97.34.
