Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Tourism and Leasing & Factoring sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which rose 14.53% or 17.00 points to trade at 134.00 at the close. Eczacibasi Yatirim (IS:ECZYT) added 10.43% or 0.92 points to end at 9.74 and Vestel (IS:VESTL) was up 10.19% or 0.370 points to 4.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL), which lost 3.17% or 0.140 points to trade at 4.270 in late trade. Turk Telekom (IS:TTKOM) declined 2.67% or 0.19 points to end at 6.92 and Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO) shed 2.01% or 0.030 points to 1.460.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 344 to 64 and 7 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.32% or 3.80 to $1177.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 3.15% or 1.83 to hit $59.97 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 3.17% or 1.99 to trade at $64.67 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.11% to 2.7548, while EUR/TRY rose 0.09% to 3.1103.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 95.11.
