Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Metal Products & Machinery and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 3.80% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI), which rose 10.00% or 246.50 points to trade at 2,712.50 at the close. Anadolu Efes Biracilik ve Malt Sanayi AS (IS:AEFES) added 9.99% or 15.20 points to end at 167.30 and ENKA Insaat ve Sanayi AS (IS:ENKAI) was up 9.99% or 6.80 points to 74.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ASELS), which lost 5.90% or 8.80 points to trade at 140.40 in late trade. Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) declined 4.35% or 3.80 points to end at 83.55 and Ral Yatirim Holding AS (IS:RALYH) shed 4.21% or 5.20 points to 118.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 444 to 137 and 10 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 3.06% or 102.46 to $3,241.54 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.23% or 1.36 to hit $62.38 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.08% or 1.33 to trade at $65.24 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.12% to 38.77, while EUR/TRY fell 1.11% to 43.12.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.29% at 101.46.
