Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Electricity and Holdings & Investments sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Enerya Enerji AS (IS:ENERY), which rose 9.46% or 0.44 points to trade at 5.09 at the close. Ahlatci Dogal Gaz Dagitim Enerji ve Yatirim AS (IS:AHGAZ) added 9.24% or 2.20 points to end at 26.00 and Margun Enerji Uretim Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:MAGEN) was up 8.33% or 2.54 points to 33.04 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI), which lost 9.98% or 222.00 points to trade at 2,002.00 in late trade. Oba Makarnacilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:OBAMS) declined 9.07% or 7.10 points to end at 71.20 and Batisoke Soke Cimento Sanayi TAS (IS:BSOKE) shed 8.61% or 1.78 points to 18.90.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.55% or 49.34 to $3,236.64 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $61.99 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $65.40 a barrel.
USD/TRY was unchanged 0.01% to 38.85, while EUR/TRY rose 0.89% to 43.76.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.81% at 100.13.
