Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Insurance, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.60% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESTL), which rose 8.78% or 5.60 points to trade at 69.40 at the close. Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi AS (IS:TOASO) added 6.74% or 13.30 points to end at 210.50 and Can2 Termik AS (IS:CANTE) was up 5.73% or 0.09 points to 1.66 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Papilon Savunma Guvenlik Sistemleri (IS:PAPIL), which lost 4.49% or 0.71 points to trade at 15.10 in late trade. Cw Enerji Muhendislik Ticaret ve Sanayi AS (IS:CWENE) declined 3.13% or 0.82 points to end at 25.34 and Katilimevim Tasarruf Finansman AS (IS:KTLEV) shed 2.99% or 1.80 points to 58.35.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 305 to 253 and 19 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.47% or 12.44 to $2,680.34 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $69.94 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $73.62 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.12% to 34.75, while EUR/TRY rose 0.18% to 36.61.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 106.29.
