Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Transport and Optoelectronic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Universal Inc (TW:1325), which rose 10.00% or 2.85 points to trade at 31.35 at the close. Prime Electronics & Satellitics Inc (TW:6152) added 9.95% or 1.10 points to end at 12.15 and Gem Terminal Industry Co Ltd (TW:2460) was up 9.94% or 3.30 points to 36.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ace Pillar Co Ltd (TW:8374), which lost 10.00% or 6.70 points to trade at 60.30 in late trade. San Far Property Ltd (TW:9946) declined 9.99% or 4.95 points to end at 44.60 and Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp (TW:2609) shed 9.89% or 8.20 points to 74.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.74% or 0.58 to $78.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.57% or 0.47 to hit $82.39 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.19% or 4.50 to trade at $2,331.10 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.09% to 32.35, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.05% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 104.84.
