Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Wood, Paper & Printing, Electricity and Sports sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE), which rose 3.94% or 0.500 points to trade at 13.200 at the close. Vestel (IS:VESTL) added 1.65% or 0.090 points to end at 5.540 and Sinpas Gmyo (IS:SNGYO) was up 1.52% or 0.010 points to 0.670 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL), which lost 5.74% or 1.20 points to trade at 19.70 in late trade. Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) declined 5.56% or 0.110 points to end at 1.870 and Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ) shed 4.69% or 0.030 points to 0.610.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 315 to 89 and 6 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.29% or 3.40 to $1166.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.94% or 0.42 to hit $44.18 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.36% or 0.17 to trade at $47.81 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.68% to 2.8870, while EUR/TRY fell 0.33% to 3.1940.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.36% at 96.83.
