Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 1.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Telefonica (BME:TEF), which rose 1.34% or 0.05 points to trade at 4.09 at the close. Aena SME SA (BME:AENA) added 1.08% or 2.00 points to end at 187.70 and Grifols SA (BME:GRLS) was up 0.82% or 0.07 points to 9.12 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI), which lost 4.47% or 3.85 points to trade at 82.20 in late trade. Bankinter (BME:BKT) declined 3.16% or 0.25 points to end at 7.66 and Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (BME:COL) shed 3.15% or 0.18 points to 5.53.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 138 to 66 and 11 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.16% or 27.50 to $2,341.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.25% or 0.20 to hit $81.09 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.18% or 0.15 to trade at $85.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 105.44.
